Recently, I highlighted a verse (Ephesians 2:8-9) in my bible that really caught my eye. It wasn’t exactly a revelation, but more of a confirmation.
You know, there are so many people walking around the earth that think they are going to heaven because they are a good person. The verse I’m talking about explains why this is NOT the way it’s going to happen. It is a gift of God, he gets the glory, and not the person who thinks they made it to Heaven because of what they did on earth.
It’s the belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins to be forgiven. That’s what saves us and reunites us with our heavenly Father. It’s so simple, and yet so many people refuse to understand it. Their eyes are closed to the truth. They’d rather think that God was looking down on the earth one day and decided, “I think I’ll put everyone through a giant obstacle course and call it Life. Then, if they succeed they can join me in Heaven.”
Who would succeed? Who is really a “good person”, and by whose standards can anyone say they are a good person? God is perfect, can you say that you are as perfect as God?
Thankfully, God did not make things this way. Jesus gives us the ability to succeed, if you accept His free gift. It’s the gift of salvation and it’s for everyone! If you haven’t already accepted Jesus as your Savior, you can do it right now by praying this simple prayer and believing it with all your heart:
Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I have done a lot of things that haven’t pleased you. I believe with my heart that Jesus was crucified and resurrected so that my sins can be forgiven. I believe he is my Lord and Savior, and I invite him into my heart now and forever. Please send your Holy Spirit to me and help me to be changed in your Glory. Thank you God for everything you do. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
You are not going to be perfect all of a sudden, and because you accepted Jesus into your heart does not mean you don’t have to do anything else. Let Him change you and lead you into rightousness!

I was a goody-goody before I came to know Yeshua. I was a very religious hindu…going to the temples twice every day and singing devotional songs to the “gods”. I remember times I would shut myself in the “pooja room”[place where the idols are kept for worship], and sing songs of devotion to these idols thinking that they’d come alive when I pleased them.
But YESHUA….! He came after this self-righteous boy…..and all the airs I put up crumbled down when I met Him….I wanted Him…and He satisfied me….!
Hallelu YAH!
