I had a word from God last night, and I’m going to share it here because I think there might be some other people who can relate.
I was having a conversation with Paul at our Bible study, and I could feel God’s anointing take over. Paul started to prophesy to me, and his words really hit me deep (as usual). I won’t go into detail about everything, but one of the things he said was that sometimes I pray to God, and don’t listen for a response.
I started to tear up. Not because I was sad, but because I knew this was from God. Only God knows how I pray. I often find myself offering thanks to God, listing my troubles, giving more thanks and appreciation, asking him questions, and then I end my prayer and continue on with my day. Well, that’s alright sometimes, but at some point, God’s going to say, “Alright, if you just listen to me for one second, you won’t have to keep asking the same question, or praying the same thing.”
How often are we guilty of this? How often to we just “upload” our problems to God without “downloading” any of His solutions? We don’t even give Him the chance to respond! Sometimes, we might say, “I’m waiting for you God”, and the whole time He is probably saying, “I’m waiting for YOU!”
Now is the listening time! God is not just a therapist that we can vent to. He cares, and wants to help us. We need to be willing to receive His responses, and His wisdom. Of course it’s okay to come to Him with all of your problems. He wants us to do that, but He also wants to guide us and help us live the life that He created for us!

Oh, He has so much to say! And Justin, let me tell you this…listening is what makes prayer exciting and lively! I’m so glad you’re going to such a good church that is building your faith up. =)
Much love,
Sidharth
