A Vision in Prayer
Justin on the Topic of Signs and Wonders

I was praying this afternoon, and I had a vision that I have actually had before. In it, I am joined with a large assembly of people, a number which cannot be counted, and we are all praising the Lord Jesus. The place we are gathered at resembles a giant stadium, like the Colosseum. As I look around me at the crowd, I notice that we are all made up of light that appears to be gold or platinum in color. Everything is clean and uniform. Then, the One we are praising descends from above in all of His Glory. It’s a moment of rejoicing, and I always seem to cry at this part of the vision. It’s an astonishing site, and it brings us all to our knees to worship Him!

Is this what Heaven will be like?

I’ve had similar dreams, but not quite like that. I think your dream shows your earnest, eager desire to be with the Lord. My dreams don’t involve a colosseum; mine happen in a cathedral with the light coming in through the large stained glass windows. Usually, the organ is being played, with unusual pipes and such. In one dream, the console appeared to be slightly hovering in the centre of the church, but it was due to the architecture of the building — strange architecture, I must say. Everybody is in great anticipation of the entrance of the Lord, but here is where the difference comes … He does not appear when or where I think He will come in. For example, instead of appearing on clouds coming down to the midst of the people, as the organ is blaring away, the people are confused because he has not shown Himself.

And then, when I turn to my right or left, He is there — not needing a fanfare of trumpets (perhaps a reminder of his “ordinary” birth). I think this signifies that nobody knows the time of the return of the Lord, and also that we don’t have to search forever for Him — he is with us, always! Your dream appears to be more direct, whereas mine seems to take a turn in the road.

As to whether or not either of our dreams signifies the meaning of Heaven, I guess time will tell, but I would think your dream is closer to the joy of Heaven — no more wondering; home, sweet home.

    Brian,

These are definitely two different visions that the Lord has shown us! Actually, mine was a vision (it happened while I was awake), and I believe you are describing a dream. It would make sense for yours to be more symbolic, as dreams usually are, but the interpretation is unknown to me.

I’m confused when you say “ordinary” birth, because according to the bible, Jesus’ birth was not in any way ordinary.

The fact that this dream is in a Cathedral, is definitely something to pay attention to. What is your connection to Cathedrals? Are you Catholic? Maybe this dream is showing you that people are focusing too much on the church, rather than a personal relationship with Jesus…

I’m just throwing out some ideas!

Brian, I’m glad the Lord gave you a dream, but you must realize that a dream is quite different from a vision. In a vision, you will be wide awake and see things in the spirit as though you see them naturally.

Dreams from God are wonderful…it’s hard to forget them, they will be like imprinted onto your mind.
