Got Any Change?
Justin on the Topic of Current Events

I told myself I wouldn’t get involved in any political conversations on my blog, but there comes a point when I need to voice my opinion about certain things. I don’t have a television in my home, but every so often I catch a few minutes of it elsewhere. Usually, I’m quickly reminded of why I got rid of my TV, and the other day was no exception. The View was on, and they were talking about Barack Obama. My spirit was slowly turning upside-down, and then Barbara Walters said something that completed the turning process.

“He’s like a Messiah…he can’t do anything wrong.”

Let’s get one thing straight lady, there is only one Messiah, and it is not Barack Obama. What amazed me was how nonchalant everyone was when she said this. No one even flinched, or blinked. Amazing for a country that claims to be a “Christian nation”.

I won’t say a lot about Barack Obama. Your eyes are either open, or they are closed. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of closed eyes in America. I have no reason to attack him on a personal level. I don’t even know him. However, I can’t support someone who is in favor of abortion, civil unions, or the global warming scam. I won’t even go into the rumors of him being a Muslim. There are enough known facts about this guy, that the confirmation of that rumor would just be the cherry on top of a deliciously wicked sundae.

Apparently, Barbara Walters is not the only one walking on thin ice. Check out this article by Timothy Noah. This country is in trouble. To all my international readers, we need your prayers in America!

Many are captivated by Obama’s stand for change. It’s like a hypnotic trigger for the spiritually dead. As soon as they hear him say “change”, they are drooling at the mouth and worshipping every word he says. No one cares what kind of change or how exactly this change is going to happen. Personally, I have no doubts that he will change this country. It’s just too bad that those changes will add to our already pending destruction.

For all who were wondering where I stand politically, you should now have an idea.

I’ve always followed American presidential elections since my political switch was turned on some time in high school.

Yes, that despite the fact that I am thousands of miles away but I guess American cultural imperialism does wonders. ;)

I have my misgivings about Obama as well, but neither is Clinton a good alternative, sadly.

Not sure if you’ve heard this before, but someone said if Obama were elected, America would be called an “Obama”-nation.

    Shalom!

I don’t like politics, but I follow it because it impacts the future of our country. Sadly, there are political leaders who are trying to make America into a socialist / communist country, but they aren’t calling it that. They want the government to regulate everything — even what we are allowed to say. Unfortunately, many people are apparently blind to these things, and the mainstream media doesn’t say much about it.

I’m not against change, but not all change is positive and helpful. The government already can’t manage its own money and can’t control itself well, and some people want it to take over much more.

Obama has latched onto a unique brand of pseudo-religious fervor that makes the more gullible among us think he actually has something new to offer. This is what all charismatic political leaders do as they begin the road towards revolution. He’s Mr. Nice Guy now, but when he’s in power for a while, I wouldn’t be surprised if his fervor turns from helping the little guy to helping the government gain ridiculous amounts of power. I certainly hope not, but that’s the problem with people that talk ideology and not policy. You can’t pin them down!

And yes, on a spiritual level, he’s incredibly bad for this country. Just when the tide is turning in favor of the pro-life position, he comes along. Not. Good.
