Not Just Any Girl…
Justin on the Topic of Personal, Blessings

katie1.jpgMy girl. How awesome is God? How lovely are His gifts! My heart is filled with joy, and my lips speak forth praises to Him. My words shall rise up to His throne as a sweet smell to Him. I have found favor with Him, and I will continue to delight in His ways. Where is all this coming from?

Even as I’m writing it, I am astonished! He said I wouldn’t believe it, even if He told me. He was right. Full restoration. A new creation. A work that He is faithful to complete. I told Him, “maybe someday”, and He said to me, “maybe now”!

Miss Dennen, as I like to call her, is a gift. She loves the Lord with all her heart, and that is what first attracted me to her (besides her beautiful face). I didn’t think girls like her existed, but I was wrong. However, she is not just any girl. She’s my girl; made for me, and I am made for her. I don’t deserve her, but for some reason God has chosen to bless me with this relationship. Now, please pray for us as we walk together with the Lord. He must be the center, and the foundation that our relationship is built on.

God is good. When? Always! Through the good and the bad times, seek Him first and all His Heavenly blessings will surely come after!

I look forward to sharing more…but for now I’ll let you all marinate in suspense.

Tamed By No Man
Justin on the Topic of Bible Study

Criticisms, judgments, curses, blessings, crude jokes, idle words, and gossip. Which word doesn’t belong in the group?

Out of the scriptures James tells us that the “human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” [James 3:8] When reading this weeks ago, I felt troubled. It wasn’t until this morning during prayer that God gave me the revelation. You see, even after I saw the Word that said the human tongue couldn’t be tamed, I still felt like I had to tame it. I was actually trying to do something that the Bible said was impossible by man. However, nothing is impossible with God right?

It is the Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to speak blessings. It is interesting that the first analogy James uses is about a fountain. He asks, “does a fountain send forth from the same opening fresh water and bitter?” [James 3:11] Who is the fountain?

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns which cannot hold water. [Jeremiah 2:13]

The Holy Spirit does not inspire such harmful speech. We can reach that conclusion hopefully by using common sense. So how then can someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit speak evil out of the same mouth?

I leave you to ponder that…
