I read this article today about some people in the Philippines who are “crucifying” themselves in a ritual that is supposed to honor the death of Jesus Christ.
The girl in the picture is only 18 years old, and voluntarily signed up to have nails driven into her hands. The few who participated with her also had their backs whipped with paddles that had broken glass on them. Apparently this area is mainly Catholic and just one of the ways that they show their appreciation for what the Lord has done.
Are you kidding me? Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, not to have some 18 year-old lunatic nail herself on the cross while the other crazy village people sit around eating ice cream and drinking beer. This is mockery!
Little girl, please take the INRI sign off of your celebrity pedestal. You are NOT the King of the Jews.
Your own wickedness shall chasten and correct you, and your backslidings and desertion of faith shall reprove you. Know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: First, you have forsaken the Lord your God; second, you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you, says the Lord of hosts.
You have turned your backs to Me, and not your faces; but in the time of trouble, you will say, Arise [O Lord] and save us!
But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise if they can save you in the time of your trouble!
Why do you complain and remonstrate against My wrath? You all have rebelled and revolted against Me, says the Lord. [Jeremiah 2]
God led me to these words last night which are actually concerning Israel, but I couldn’t help noticing that our own country is guilty of the same offenses. These words pierced my heart because all around me I see the morality of this country slipping down the drain. Does that mean we have a bunch of bad people here? Not really. Actually, most of the people I know are in agreement that this country isn’t what it used to be, but they don’t realize what the true problem is.
A nation full of people that THINK they are good does not mean that the nation is going to be good. In fact, Jesus said there are none who are good, but God. By turning our backs to the only One who is good, we will suffer the consequence of losing His goodness. A country without the grace of God is in trouble.
With that said, it comes as no surprise that someone who is claiming to be a Christian is now saying that same-sex marriage should be legal. I’m talking about Barak Obama, who recently referred those who are in disagreement with his position on this controversial issue to read the Sermon on the Mount. According to him, it’s more important than “an obscure passage in Romans”. [Read full article]
I’m pretty sure that Jesus didn’t teach people that homosexual marriages were okay. I’m also pretty sure that a Christian who is referring to any part of God’s written Word as “obscure” is on a dangerous path.
Sadly, he resembles the majority of Christians in this ungodly nation.
I told myself I wouldn’t get involved in any political conversations on my blog, but there comes a point when I need to voice my opinion about certain things. I don’t have a television in my home, but every so often I catch a few minutes of it elsewhere. Usually, I’m quickly reminded of why I got rid of my TV, and the other day was no exception. The View was on, and they were talking about Barack Obama. My spirit was slowly turning upside-down, and then Barbara Walters said something that completed the turning process.
“He’s like a Messiah…he can’t do anything wrong.”
Let’s get one thing straight lady, there is only one Messiah, and it is not Barack Obama. What amazed me was how nonchalant everyone was when she said this. No one even flinched, or blinked. Amazing for a country that claims to be a “Christian nation”.
I won’t say a lot about Barack Obama. Your eyes are either open, or they are closed. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of closed eyes in America. I have no reason to attack him on a personal level. I don’t even know him. However, I can’t support someone who is in favor of abortion, civil unions, or the global warming scam. I won’t even go into the rumors of him being a Muslim. There are enough known facts about this guy, that the confirmation of that rumor would just be the cherry on top of a deliciously wicked sundae.
Apparently, Barbara Walters is not the only one walking on thin ice. Check out this article by Timothy Noah. This country is in trouble. To all my international readers, we need your prayers in America!
Many are captivated by Obama’s stand for change. It’s like a hypnotic trigger for the spiritually dead. As soon as they hear him say “change”, they are drooling at the mouth and worshipping every word he says. No one cares what kind of change or how exactly this change is going to happen. Personally, I have no doubts that he will change this country. It’s just too bad that those changes will add to our already pending destruction.
For all who were wondering where I stand politically, you should now have an idea.
Have I turned into a big softy since becoming a Christian, or am I just tired of hearing about all the negative stuff in the news? In my opinion, this kind of news story is more satisfying than a large sweet tea at McDonald’s!
After reading this, I’ve become more disappointed with this country. It’s a news story about a gas company that decided not to display their enormous cross this year. It has been their tradition for 40 years, and this year they decided they didn’t want to offend anyone.
I’ve just about had it with this world, and I can only imagine the point of hurt and frustration that God must be at. Imagine sending your child into the world to save everyone, and then watching as people slowly stomp his name into the dirt, and spit in his face with the most ridiculous and ignorant things ever imaginable.
I’m not talking about unbelievers either. Apparently, the guy who made this decision is a Christian. Has he lost his mind? Since when are customers more important than the One who was tortured and crucified for our salvation?!
You know what offends me? I’ll make a list for you…
Pornographic calendars near the checkout isle at Walmart
Seeing books like The Secret when I first walk into Waldenbooks
The constant foul language that everyone seems to use nowadays
The lack of customer service…EVERYWHERE
The “New Age Beverages” isle at Target
Darwinism bumper stickers
The people that find it necessary to use the name of Jesus when they are extremely angry (it’s always the people that don’t even believe in Him)
I could go on, but you know what? Who cares? I don’t cry myself to sleep over these things any more than unbelievers cry themselves to sleep over seeing a cross! How many “offended” people have you actually encountered that say, “oh I just can’t believe they have a nativity scene in their yard” or, “can you believe he said Merry Christmas? That is so inappropriate!”
We are catering to the .086% of the population who would actually speak out against Christian imagery, and what is the real reason? It’s called a backbone, and it’s been deteriorating for years now. To all the whiners out there; cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it!
When your done wiping your tears away, you can start worrying about more important issues…like those pornographic calendars at Walmart.
You can book a reservation to fly to space today…if you have $200,000. I’m shocked that this is actually a reality, but Virgin Galactic is offering tickets now.
If you want to know more just check out the site they have created for this space adventure by clicking here.
I think it would be an amazing opportunity to fly in space, but I can’t help to think that there are more important things to be concerned with here on earth.
I don’t know…what are your thoughts?
“Timmy, why don’t you hang around Billy anymore?” said Mrs. Peterson. “He’s a loser mom! He hasn’t even been to space yet!”
