The Government We Deserve

Dear America,

Your own wickedness shall chasten and correct you, and your backslidings and desertion of faith shall reprove you. Know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: First, you have forsaken the Lord your God; second, you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you, says the Lord of hosts.

You have turned your backs to Me, and not your faces; but in the time of trouble, you will say, Arise [O Lord] and save us!

But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise if they can save you in the time of your trouble!

Why do you complain and remonstrate against My wrath? You all have rebelled and revolted against Me, says the Lord. [Jeremiah 2]

God led me to these words last night which are actually concerning Israel, but I couldn’t help noticing that our own country is guilty of the same offenses. These words pierced my heart because all around me I see the morality of this country slipping down the drain. Does that mean we have a bunch of bad people here? Not really. Actually, most of the people I know are in agreement that this country isn’t what it used to be, but they don’t realize what the true problem is.

A nation full of people that THINK they are good does not mean that the nation is going to be good. In fact, Jesus said there are none who are good, but God. By turning our backs to the only One who is good, we will suffer the consequence of losing His goodness. A country without the grace of God is in trouble.

With that said, it comes as no surprise that someone who is claiming to be a Christian is now saying that same-sex marriage should be legal. I’m talking about Barak Obama, who recently referred those who are in disagreement with his position on this controversial issue to read the Sermon on the Mount. According to him, it’s more important than “an obscure passage in Romans”. [Read full article]

I’m pretty sure that Jesus didn’t teach people that homosexual marriages were okay. I’m also pretty sure that a Christian who is referring to any part of God’s written Word as “obscure” is on a dangerous path.

Sadly, he resembles the majority of Christians in this ungodly nation.

Standing for Righteousness

The other day during prayer with two of my friends, I began to prophesy a simple thing that was packed with power. I cried out, “the Lord searches the earth, seeking someone who will stand for righteousness. Who will stand? Who will stand for righteousness?”

That’s the gist of what I said and all I can really remember.

The next night, when I was praying by myself I began again with the “righteousness prayers”, and I told God that I would stand for righteousness. I volunteered myself (or maybe just answered a calling) to be a soldier on the front line of this battle (between God and the devil). The Bible says that we are not fighting against flesh and blood. There is a spiritual war going on, and we are just caught in the middle. I really believe that God is looking for people that are going to participate in this spiritual war. He has given us all the tools we need, and now we must accept what we are here to do!

Last night at work, I had a new experience. I was in the break room and one of the guys started talking about something rather disgusting (sexually related). Ordinarily, I would smile and try to ignore it, not wanting to cause any ripples or look like a prude. However, this time something came up inside me, and I was filled with a new strength. I said to him, “I’m a Christian, and that offends me. I would appreciate it if you didn’t speak like that around me.”

Immediately, I could see the conviction hit him like a ton of bricks, and he began apologizing repeatedly. I was not expecting that kind of reaction. In fact, I don’t know what I was expecting because it all happened so fast. Afterwards, I began to wonder why I had never done anything like that before. So now I have some questions for you…

Are you standing for righteousness? Do you tolerate ungodliness because you don’t want to stand out? Why is it that we feel like we should conform to everyone else’s sinful ways, and keep “our beliefs” to ourselves.

God is looking for people who will not tolerate the sins of the world, are you willing to stand?

Have You Heard From Him?

One of the saddest things that I have ever heard from a Christian is that God doesn’t talk to His people anymore, or that God doesn’t require the use of prophets anymore. What exactly was the purpose of the ancient prophets? All throughout their prophecies they are declaring the coming Wrath of the Lord, and interpreting His Divine plan for Salvation through Jesus Christ. It is NOT the same thing as the anti-Christian title of “psychic”. The prophets were not fortune tellers!

So what does the Bible say about prophesying? Has the office of prophet ceased? Let’s look at some scriptures and see what the Word truly says about this…

First, in 1 Samuel 10:5 we are told that Saul is going to run into a company of prophets who will be prophesying. We are never told who the prophets are, so we can assume that not every individual prophet is listed in the Bible. We know of the famous ones, but God gave the gift of prophecy to many in those days!

In Matthew 10:41, Jesus said, “He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward,”. Obviously He wouldn’t say this if there were no more prophets after the Old Testament. Then He tells the Pharisees in Matthew 23:34 that He is sending them prophets and teachers because they constantly think they can escape the judgement that is coming to them. The work of the prophets has not yet been completed, and will never be completed because not everyone reads and can properly interpret the scriptures! The Pharisees spent their life studying the Word of God and honoring the ancient prophets, but still couldn’t understand the Gospel, and recognize the coming of Jesus Christ. Serpents!

In 1 Corinthians 12:28 Paul is telling us the positions that God appoints to the people in the church. Can you guess what one of these positions is? If you said prophet, you would be correct!

There is more than enough scriptural evidence to confirm that prophets exist today. To see it any other way would be foolish. We are warned in the Bible of false prophets that will rise up in the last days, but wouldn’t it be logical that if there are false prophets, there must be real ones too?

I haven’t even shared my own experiences with the gift of prophesy; experiences that can’t be explained by the natural mind. The Word stands firm without my testimonies, and I can’t understand why there would be any confusion about this topic. The reality is that it is a powerful gift, and where there is power, there is opposition (the devil). He has set up stumbling blocks for those in the Body of Christ, and he has done well. However, Christ has already destroyed the works of the devil; the problem is that a good amount of Christians still don’t know how to walk in that authority and power. In Ephesians 2:19-22, we are told that we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and that Christ holds us all together. We are not separated from them, but we are in fellowship with them, and we are all a part of the temple that is for our Lord!

To answer the question in the title, yes I have heard from Him. In fact, why wouldn’t I? We have been reconciled by the Blood of Jesus Christ. God isn’t an imaginary friend that lives in a place called Heaven. No! He is a personal God that wants to speak to His creation and have a relationship with them. If you believe in Him, you should be hearing from Him regularly. If you aren’t, then there’s a problem, and it’s not with Him!

If we hear from Him, why wouldn’t we share what He says?

Breaking the Yokes

As I was praying tonight, the Lord spoke something into my heart, and instructed me to share it. This is the second time something like this has happened, but I want to make it very clear that I do not consider myself to be a prophet. Sometimes I hear specific messages from God, and sometimes I’m led to share them. I believe that God can use any of His chosen people to deliver a message, so we should all be open to hearing from Him!

Says the Lord:

This is a season of breaking yokes in the Body of Christ. All who have been unequally yoked must be made aware of their disobedience to my command. There will be great challenges and sorrows for those who have allowed themselves to be held captive. Know this, I AM the one who sets the captives free! At the appointed time My anointing will be poured out on the captives, and yokes will be broken! Do not worry about how you will be set free. Do not take the burden of it upon yourself, or you will risk having an increase in the weight of your troubles. Know that you’ve been wrong in your ways, and it is I who will make all things right! When you hear the call, pass your bread to the right, and fear not a single thing that day. For out of boldness, comes new life, and I am the Life Giver! Do not be concerned about these mysteries now, for at the appointed time my Spirit will reveal them to you, and you will know that My anointing is upon you!

This is definitely an exciting word. I have received some knowledge from this, but it’s full meaning is still unknown to me. Even though it begins with saying that yokes will be broken in the Body of Christ, I felt that it was going to be specific people that it applied to. I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but I pray that the Holy Spirit would help us understand its meaning. If it’s meant for you then I pray that you will be able to discern properly the “appointed time”.

A Prophetic Word

Well, this has been an interesting day so far. I was praying a little while ago, and I received a few things that I must share. First, a few phrases that came to me:

  1. The world sees and soon forgets.
  2. The world has lost its fear of God.
  3. We have compromised our beliefs for comfort.
  4. We should not be concerned with the world, because it takes away the concern we should have for God.

After I received these short phrases, I felt like the Lord really wanted to say something. He was actually responding to everything that I wanted to say to Him. I grabbed my notebook and wrote things down as they were being told to me, and I’m going to share it with you. It’s a pretty powerful word!

Says the Lord, “Do not be disturbed by the futile circumstances of the world. Your eyes should be on me! For if they are not on me, how will you know when I am coming? Truly I say to you that whoever does not have their eye upon me on that day will weep.

Do not be alarmed with the many false religions that are running rampant. Know that I AM in control! At the appointed time they will be handed over to the one they serve, unless they come to repentance and worship Me, the God of Israel.

Have you forgotten my beloved Son who has conquered this world? Remember now that I AM the victorious King, and all kingdoms will one day bow to me! Do not worry yourselves with those who refuse to receive my free gift anymore than you worry about telling them what it is! For those who have trusted in me and have shared the Good News, will be rewarded, and those who have hardened their hearts will be judged. Woe to those who do not believe in the righteous judgement of the Lord! Have you forgotten that it was I Who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? How much more do you think the people of this generation will suffer if they do not turn from their wickedness? Surely, judgement is coming, but to those who have kept My commandments, you will be spared. Again I say to you that you will be lifted up on that day, and no bad thing shall harm you!

A great feast is being prepared for you, and it is My desire that all will sit at the table with Me. Even now, your seat has been reserved. My heart aches for those who have not responded to My invitation. Woe to those whose names are not written in My Book, for on the appointed day there will indeed be weeping! All will declare that I am Lord, but for many the time will be too late.

Stay alert and watch for those who have come to change the Truth. Know that I AM the same yesterday, today, and forever. Many will say that they have discovered a new revelation, but foolish are they who are blind to My complete and preserved Word. Many will say that I am a friend to the sins of the world, and to them I will pour out my wrath. I AM the Lord your God, who knows not any sin! Those who have not been washed with the Blood, will perish. Many will lie to you about what I regard as sin, but if the Spirit of Truth is in you, He will expose these lies! Those who are not bearing fruit will be pruned from the tree, and again I say to you, there will be weeping!

Turn now from false doctrine and all false teaching, lest you be handed over to the false teacher! Humble yourself before the Lord, so that He may impart the Truth to you. Many have not been after My heart, but instead have been doers of their own agenda. Remember My great commandment when those who have been fooled try to fool you. To those who have both loved and feared me, you will not see the terrible day that is coming!”

May this word from the Lord make a place inside you, and may it turn your spirit to the One who is worthy of all our praises!

Amen.

The Test in Testimony

Thank you all for your prayers. I have honestly felt them, and I feel a strengthening in my spirit that can only be from our wonderful Lord.

God is doing an amazing work, and I’m thankful for everything this season. I don’t feel the need to explain everything that is going on in my life, but in my last post I really needed prayer. I would rather spend my time praising and worshipping the One who is worthy of it all, then be down in the dumps with life’s circumstances. I’m rejoicing now in the fact that I can rejoice during these times!

Please know that my faith is stronger than ever (by the grace of God), and I know Who is in control.

I have had some powerful words from the Lord this weekend. On Friday, I had the opportunity to praise and worship with a ministry that had invited me awhile back. It was incredible and the power of God was astonishing! The pastor had said that from Thanksgiving until January 1, 2008 was 40 days, and it is going to be a time of testing for Christians. God is separating the goats from the sheep, and preparing His children for what is to come. A couple days before Friday’s word, Patricia King, from the Extreme Prophetic Ministries said something that really spoke to me in one of her videos. She said, “The Holy Spirit is a teacher, and when does the teacher not talk? During a test!”

During these “testing” times, I don’t think we should be locking ourselves away in our houses and not doing anything. In fact, now is the time to kick it into over-drive! If there is something God has been calling you to do, then start seeking ways to do it. If you need a job, start putting in applications! It’s easy sometimes to want to sit around waiting for your miracle to fall out of the sky, but I truly believe God wants to see us doing our very best for His glory to be received!

Again, thank you all for your prayers, and know that you will be lifted up in mine!

Modern Day Habakkuk?

Last night before bed, I asked God to speak to me a specific word through the bible. I told Him I wanted a really good verse that would bring revelation to my spirit.

I heard in my spirit, “Habakkuk”. I said out loud, “Oh God, that doesn’t even sound interesting.” Well, I was wrong. I found the verse I was asking for, and it was so powerful to me, that it may just be my new favorite verse.

Out of the Amplified bible Habakkuk 1:5 reads:

Look around [you, Habakkuk, replied the Lord] among the nations and see! And be astonished! Astounded! For I am putting into effect a work in your days [such] that you would not believe it if it were told you.

Habakkuk was crying to the Lord about the injustice that was being done with the Chaldeans. He didn’t think it was fair that they always seemed to prosper and be blessed even though their lives were wicked and evil.

Look around you. Doesn’t it seem like some people just do whatever they want, and nothing bad ever happens? Do you ever wonder to yourself, “when are they going to get what’s coming to them?”

I don’t wish bad things on anyone, but there is a time for justice to be served. I can relate to Habakkuk on this, and I’m sure we have all been in this situation at some time in our lives. We know that God determines the time for that justice to be served and He says that we won’t even believe the work He has in effect! I think this verse is just as relevant as it was when God spoke it to Habakkuk.

God says His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8). He has said this to me a lot this month. It’s human nature to try and figure everything out, but we can’t. My circumstances haven’t been the best lately, but I know that God has a plan. Again the words, “you wouldn’t believe it if I told you”, ring in my ears. I’m glad His ways are not my ways, because His ways are better than anything I could ever dream of!

Five Loaves, and Two Fish

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 KJV)

I woke up at 5:00 a.m., and I felt like God was trying to tell me something. I was half asleep so I couldn’t really hear Him well. I started to fall back asleep, and then I remembered an entry on Beppo’s blog titled, “Letting God Wake You Up During the Night“.

I instantly became alert (not wanting to miss a message from God). I said, “What is it that you are trying to tell me?”

Mark 6:36 came into my mind. I didn’t even know if it was a real verse. I also got the words, “you have made worldly decisions”. I promised myself I would remember these things, and I fell back asleep.

When I woke up later, I did remember, and I ran (with scissors in my hand..muhaha) to my bible to see if Mark 6:36 really existed. Of course it did. The verse didn’t make sense, so I did what I usually do, and I looked at the verse before it and after it.

35 And when the day was already far gone, His disciples came to Him and said, This is a desolate and isolated place, and the hour is now late.

36 Send the crowds away to go into the country and villages round about and buy themselves something to eat.

37 But He replied to them, Give them something to eat yourselves. And they said to Him, Shall we go and buy 200 denarii [about forty dollars] worth of bread and give it to them to eat?

This is when the disciples fed 5,000 men with five loaves of bread and two fish. I was still confused, even though I was very excited that this was a real verse, and not something I made up. I pondered it more, and this afternoon, it all came together.

First, I’ll let you know that I have been wanting to do some kind of mission work, and what always comes to my mind is ministering on the street, and you guessed it…feeding the homeless.

However, with my own limited resources right now, I haven’t been able to commit to anything except trying to survive myself.

I love that they come to Jesus and basically say, “hey, we’re tired. Send these people away so they can go buy themselves something to eat.” Then Jesus (in my own words) says, “No. We’re going to keep them here, and YOU ARE going to feed them!”

Then the disciples wondered how they could feed all the men with the limited amount of food they had.

When I paired this story with the words, “you have made worldly decisions”, I realized God was telling me that His power is greater than mine. I have been trusting in what the world has taught me, instead of trusting the Lord. Of course we all say that God’s power is greater than ours, but how many people are truly believing it?

How many of us listen to what the world says is possible, and not what God says is possible?
